Research

The Sleep Disorders Center of Georgia Research Division provides high-quality, sleep-related investigative site services to the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Since 1997, we have conducted over 80 clinical trials in the areas of insomnia (onset and maintenance insomnia, in both adult and geriatric populations, as well as transient insomnia studies), excessive daytime sleepiness, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and restless legs. We offer rapid enrollment of appropriate subjects and the quality of data produced by our lab is exceptional (as our many study monitors will attest).

The Research Division is an integral part of the Sleep Disorders Center of Georgia, a full-service, multi-site sleep medicine facility in Atlanta that operates an additional 12 clinical beds. We are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

D. Alan Lankford, Ph.D., is our primary Principal Investigator. He has been involved in the field of clinical research, either as a Principal Investigator or Subinvestigator, for more than 25 years.

Michael Bohannon, MBA, the director of our research program, has been coordinating clinical trials for more than 20 years.
